Kayla Plante

Hi future couples - my name is Kayla, and I’m a Lead Planner with Golden Hour!

 

Originally from Hollywood, Florida, I moved to Orlando to earn my bachelor's degree in hospitality management from the University of Central Florida. During my time there, I discovered my passion for weddings while working alongside Kelsey, whose mentorship inspired me to become a Certified Wedding Planner in 2022.

 

Since then, I’ve had the joy of planning, coordinating, and assisting over 75 weddings—from intimate gatherings to large-scale celebrations. I specialize in creating personalized, stress-free experiences that reflect each couple’s unique love story. From timelines to design to vendor coordination, I bring a calm and detail-focused approach to every wedding day.

 

I can’t wait to meet you and help bring your dream day to life—let’s make magic together!

  • I love building Legos—creativity and patience in every brick!

  • The beach is my happy place, especially when I’m paddle boarding.

  • I used to be a baton twirler—yes, I can still do a few spins!

Ashley Babbit

Hello! I'm Ashley Babbit, a Lead Planner for Golden Hour Events. I've been with the team since May 2024 and I had Kelsey as my own wedding planner! 

​

I grew up in West Fargo, North Dakota, and earned my Bachelor's in Event Management from UCF's Rosen College in 2020. I became a Certified Wedding and Event Planner in 2019 through the Certified Wedding Planner Society and am also a Certified Design Consultant and one of their Industry Advancement Directors. I have experience working for various venues and planning companies around Orlando and I am currently the Events Chair for the Rosen College Alumni Board!

 

I love going to networking events, line dancing with my husband, and traveling. My goal is to see all 50 states and as many countries as possible!

Lex Rodriguez

Hey there! I’m Lex Rodriguez – your go-to girl for all things weddings!

I was born and raised in Orlando, Florida, and if I’m not planning a wedding, you’ll probably find me at the beach or snapping photos of life’s beautiful little moments. I’m a firm believer in soaking up every ounce of joy life has to offer.

​

I graduated from UCF’s Rosen College with a Bachelor’s degree in Event Management in 2023, but my love for planning truly started way before that. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been the one organizing, hosting, and bringing people together! My background as a competitive dancer played a huge role in that. I fell in love with the music, the energy, and the behind-the-scenes magic that brings a big moment to life. Weddings, to me, are the perfect mix of purposeful planning and pure performance — filled with heart, detail, and just the right amount of sparkle and surprise.

I truly can’t wait to work with my couples — getting to know your story, your style, and what makes your love unique is one of the best parts of what I do. Let’s celebrate every moment together… starting with this big one!

  • I am a Florida Native (There's not many of us left) 

  • I was a competitive dancer for 15 years.

  • My fiance and I are high school sweethearts - almost 9 years!

MEET The Owner

Hello! My name is Kelsey Johnson and I am the owner of Golden Hour Events + Simply Enchanted Events. I became a Certified Wedding Planner back in 2015 while working as a Hotel Catering Sales Manager. After working in hotels and resorts for 8 years, I knew it was time to branch out and open Simply Enchanted Events and then 5 years later we now have Golden Hour Events!

Being the Owner of these amazing companies truly feels like a dream every day. I absolutely love what I do and it shows through our incredible team's devotion and hard work.   • I am a Swiftie but also love heavy metal - my favorite band is Falling In Reverse

  • I am married to the love of my life - DJ. We'll be celebrating 4 years of marriage + 10 years being together in 2025!

  • We have two corgi pups - Jasper + Charlie. They are our fur babies!

  • I am a Florida girl - born and raised in South FL

Peyton Sutch

Hi there,  I'm Peyton, a lead planner for Golden Hour Events!

 

My hometown was Oviedo, FL, where I started to casually assist weddings at my church. Then, moving to Tallahassee, FL, for two years to complete my A.A, I assisted weddings for another company until moving down to go to UCF's Rosen College. During this time, I also started working for Kelsey in 2024. While earning my Bachelor's in Event Management, I've held leadership roles in the student organization of WEDS, and I've become a Certified Wedding Planner.
